Ahh, Taxes

Many of you probably heard me mumbling about taxes. I'm taking all of that back, now. That's because, once again, I've been proved wrong.

Usually tax time is happy time. Here's why: we've always gotten a refund. Granted, it's not a huge refund, but it's better than having to pay.

I took accounting in college and I think I understand most of the worksheets and calculations. Somehow, though, the tax preparation software we use has always found even more money to add to our refund. Hey, I'm not complaining.

Well...this year...tax time was not happy time...I pulled out the 1040A and my trusty pencil and calculator and started filling it out. WHAT? WE OWE? You know how they put that smiley face and frowney face on the refund and owe lines? That's so wrong...but so true. Frowney face.

So, we didn't file our taxes as quickly as we have in the past (guess we're not as eager when we have to pay!). Finally, we just figured we better pay up and started going through the tax prep. WHAT? WE GET A REFUND? Smiley face.

Once again, they found money. Once again, tax time = happy time.
