SOLD!

No, we're not selling our house...and no, nobody has decided to rent the house in Bella Vista (although getting rid of our "vacation home" would be fantastic!).
We went to an auction yesterday. I've never been to an auction before and let me tell you, even though I didn't have a number, my hands were in my pockets the whole time. At one point, my nose was itching (you know how that always happens at the most inopportune times) but I was afraid to do anything about it. But then, I thought that maybe my nose twitching could be perceived as a signal, so I stopped that too! Yes, I know you need a number. I just didn't want to risk coming home with a 1930's fishing manual - that, for sure, would do me NO good.
We didn't stay very long, because we didn't see anything that we wanted to stick around for. It was, however, a very interesting experience. I was sitting there trying to understand the guy, and honestly, if I were bidding, I would have no idea how much I was offering. Maybe I should learn "auctionese" before getting serious.
You would think that we would have more time to post on the weekend, but those two little precious days seem to fly by. We cleaned house (got guests coming over tonight for a wedding shower), we did some landscaping (it's coming together folks, but man are live things pricey!), and we did some furniture shopping. We're happy to report that pictures may be posted within the next month or two, because the house is starting to come together.
I'll leave you with some wise words from my Grandma: "It doesn't take a house to make a home." Thanks for keeping things in perspective, Grandma. Sometimes we can get caught up in the decorating and the planting that we lose sight of what we already have - a beautiful home.
