Swedish Meatballs in Dallas

That's right, swedish meatballs in Dallas. We went to Dallas on Friday for an Alumni Event I had planned and decided ot make it a trip. So, we went to IKEA, a swedish home furnishings store (hence the swedish meatballs we had in the IKEA restaurant).

IKEA has anything you would ever dream of wanting for your home. BUT, since we don't have a dream budget, we selected a few things we really wanted because we knew either we couldn't find it anywhere else or it would be way more expensive if we did. Our two big purchases were cabinet and drawer handles for the kitchen and bathrooms (I'll post pictures once they're installed) and a window panel system for our patio door.
Here are some pictures of the panels. I didn't want vertical blinds, and I saw this in the IKEA catalog. Basically, it's a three rail system at the top and you can hang these panels of cloth to make blinds/curtains. We can change out the fabric anytime we want, but these are the ones we got at IKEA (nicely cut to size already...)

You can run the panels along the rail to have them all the way to one side, layered one behind the other, or covering the whole window. It's really fun to create "art" with the panels while creating some privacy.

By the way, that's our table in the kitchen. It's a counter height table or "pub table". Great fun. Posted by Picasa
