Wild Bananas

My nephew, Joel, went to visit my parents in Madeira last summer. There are a lot of banana trees on the island, something that obviously fascinated him, because he kept pointing and saying "Look, more wild bananas!"

Yesterday, Mark and I went to Wal-Mart for our weekly shopping. I reluctantly shop at Wal-Mart for groceries. We go there out of necessity. We only have two other grocery stores in town and they are overpriced, so we go to the home of "low prices, every day." I would love to shop at a real grocery store with good prices - like Safeway, or King Soopers, or Albertson's. And here's part of the reason why - we were doing our shopping and when we got to the produce section we saw they were OUT of bananas. Really ... completely out ... no bananas!

If only we had wild bananas in our town...
