Today may be the last day of harmony in our house for a whole month.
Today is the first day of the World Cup.
Now, background here for those of you who don't know.
- I was born and raised in Portugal. Mark was born and raised in Brazil.
- We are both fluent in Portuguese, but often "discuss" which is the most correct, or really more importantly, who is right.
- We love each other very much despite our cultural differences. =o)
Mark and I have survived a World Cup together, but then again, we were just dating (amazing that 4 years have gone by already). So, we were probably toning our passion for the sport and our countries down just a tad so as not to scare the other one off and we also knew that at the end of the day/game, we would each have our own homes to go to. This World Cup is different. We're married. Two nations. Under one roof.
We filled out our brackets yesterday and we both got the same team as Champion - Brazil. See, I'm big enough to acknowledge that "they got skillz." Nothing wrong with wishing for an upset, though =o)
And since I'm the one posting...GO PORTUGAL!!!!!!! I don't think so Joy! GO BRAZIL!!!!!!!! :)
