I feel like I'm in college again.
We're back from Houston and we're tired. We decided to spend Sunday afternoon at my great-aunt's house to spend some extra time with family and to watch the superbowl. So, we left at 9:40pm and pulled into our driveway at 6:30am. Needless to say we didn't make it to work at 8, but we were here at 8:30am. I can't even tell you how much (or little) we slept.
We had a good plan: the buddy system was implemented where the buddy-passenger promised to NOT fall asleep while their buddy-driver was on shift. Mark and I took the first 4 1/2 hours and Mom and Dad took the next 4 1/2 hours. It was a good plan and we all stayed awake during our shift and tried to sleep when we were off. Except how much can you sleep in a moving vehicle with a seatbelt rubbing against your neck? Not much. Mark and I crawled into bed and slept for another hour.
Now, I did these night road trips in college and we even did it at Thanksgiving on the way to Temple. But we slept in. It wasn't Monday like it is right now. I think we're surprisingly holding up pretty well. I hope Mom and Dad bounce back from this. Maybe they're still asleep.
The wedding was fun. We decided to break out the slr camera again (I missed it) so you're going to have to wait until we get the film developed -- we're not quite in the digital slr world yet -- hopefully we got some good ones. We stayed in some condos right on the lake and Mark and I had fun taking some creative shots. It's hard to be patient and not have the immediate gratification of seeing the pictures. So, you'll have to be patient too.
G'night.
