**Okay, not sure what the deal is with the pictures - some of them are super tiny and then the last two are fine - so to get a better look at the photos, make sure and check our online album...sorry...**
Our first step of the weekend. I had never shot a gun before, so I was a little scared, but Mark was so excited that I had planned this into the weekend that I couldn't bear to just watch.
He taught me the basics of gun safety, how to load, how to aim, and how to shoot. And this is when I discovered something pivotal about myself. Something that I never thought would be an issue, suddenly became a huge obstacle. Some of you may already know this, but I cannot wink my left eye. I can wink my right one, but no matter how much I focus, I cannot wink my left one. Well, I'm right handed so naturally I wanted the pull the trigger with the right hand. However, because I can't close my left eye, I couldn't look down the gun and aim correctly. SO, I had to switch to my left hand. I've always wanted to be a lefty; I guess now I can say I am...I am a lefty shooter.
Next time we want to go to the handgun range and I'll probably try to shoot with my dominant hand, thus making me an ambidextrous shooter?? Oh, what a skill for my resume!

Not bad for my first day shooting, huh?
CAMPING
It really was the perfect weekend to go camping. It was amazingly warm for November and although it did rain a bit overnight, it was perfect to be sleeping while hearing the rain hitting the tent.
We had a good campsite, heard way too many things rustling up on the hill (if you ask me), hiked two trails (for a total of at least 4 miles) and had ooey gooey s'mores over the fire. We decided that we would take anything that would make the weekend comfortable, primarily because camping hasn't really been my thing, so we took the french press and coffee, hot chocolate, great food, pillows, blankets, and scrabble (I should be the good wife and congratulate my husband publicly for beating me...).
I had a great time and you will notice that I was smiling all throughout the pictures - proof that it was a fun weekend!
