Every Thursday we go over and spend some time with Emma Claire. I think deep down, I always knew she liked Mark more than me. Don't get me wrong, she gets excited when she sees me at the door - she smiles and kicks her feet a little, but it's just not the same as when she sees Mark.
First of all, he plays this game with her when we first get there: he hides so that she'll look around me and try to find him. Yeah, first clue that I'm not exactly the guest of honor =o). Then, when he pops out from behind the corner, she just starts giggling and kicking and waving her arms.
Our good friend Caroline is trying to teach Emma Claire how to say Mark and Joy. Guess which one she can say? Yesterday she asked Emma Claire, "Can you say Mark?" "Can you say Joy?" And this is what Emma Claire belts out: "MAAK", "MAAK" and then when asked where Mark was, points right at him.
It's official, Emma Claire likes Mark more than me. It's OK, though. I'll still go every week and still see her get excited when she sees me (until Mark shows up)...and maybe one day she'll learn to say "Joy." If only I had an easier name...

Oh, Joy, what a sweet post. She loves you too. If it makes you feel any better she says Dada, and not mama. She just knows that you love her. Oh, I caught Jay trying to teach her both of your names again. And again, she just said, "Maak." Had to laugh...
Love you guys-
Caroline
