Birthday Update

Blue Man Group was great! It's kind of hard to explain (a lot like how we felt after Cirque du Soleil), but it was definitely worth the money and the trip. Those guys are just a bundle of energy...

Mark is officially older now. He had a great birthday, I think - at least he said he did. I made dinner for him on Saturday. Here's the menu:

Bread with roasted garlic and olive oil (for dipping)
Tomato and Mozzarella Salad
Beef Stroganoff (Mark's request)
French Green Beans
Layered Pumpkin Cheesecake with Cinnamon Spice Whipped Cream
Latte with Cinnamon Spice Whipped Cream

The beef stroganoff was amazing. I put the meat in the crockpot all afternoon (because it wasn't the greatest cut of beef) and then added it to the sauce. It just melted in our mouths. Wow.
The Cheesecake was my great feat of the day. I have never made pumpkin pie and I have never made cheesecake, so this was going to be a double whammy. It turned out wonderful. It had a ginger snap crust with a layer of regular cheesecake over it and then a layer of pumpkin cheesecake over the top. It was really pretty.
Now, it's back-to-work-Monday. I guess all partying must come to an end sometime.
